In the apparel industry it’s important to set your brand apart by adding value to you products. We make it easy and affordable to do that with our relabeling expertise. Red Bird offers multiple relabeling options for custom t shirt tags including the most popular, screen printed tags, tag removal, woven labels and custom loop tags.

A screen printed neck tag is a creative way to relabel and professionally brand your merch. It's done by removing the existing tear away inner label and replacing it with a nice soft feel custom label that will include your brands logo, size of the garment, the fabric contents, care and wash instructions. Relabeling is a very unique process that gives you t-shirt a premium look and adds a ton of value to your brand.

Screen printed neck tags are the most popular relabeling method. Neck tags are a cost effective addition that can be added on minimums as low as 36 pieces. To get wholesale pricing we suggest getting a minimum of 12 pieces per size. Besides manufacturing your own blanks, this is how you can make your brand stand out and be 100% custom. We simply remove the itchy paper tag inside the neckline and replace it with a soft touch, custom screen printed neck label. This finishing service will provide that retail quality finish that your partners are looking for.

Screen printing is our standard method for custom tags but we also offer heat transferred tags. Our maximum size for screen print is 3.5” x 3.5”.

Also available, heat transferred tags by Supacolor. These are great for detail on the fuzzy fleece material inside of hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts. The cost is a bit higher because of the time required for applying each individual transfer. The maximum size we recommend is 4.2” x 4.2”.

When printing shirt tags there are a couple things we suggest. To begin, it’s important to keep the care instructions “wash cold/hang dry”, garment information, fabric content. Our team will provide you with all the necessary information required on an inner label. The other benefit of custom tag printing is the tag removal. Most of us remove those itchy annoying tags from our t shirts, so why not replace it with your own custom inner tag that has a very soft feel. We’ve screen printed thousands of custom tags and our team would be more than happy to help design your own custom tag template, or you can download from our choice of stock templates.

CUSTOM NECK TAGS.

FILE SIZE.

300-600DPI is the best resolution for screen printed or heat transferred neck tags. We can go smaller, but anything less than what’s recommended may not be legible. Tearaway Tags

If your shirts come with tearaway tags, we do not charge to tear those out. Please be aware that tear-away tags will sometimes leave small pieces of the tag still in the shirt seam. If you do not pay for tag removal, we are not liable to remove all pieces of the tag should some remain in the seam. If you want them unsewn for removal, thus eliminating the chance of the tearaway remnants, standard removal fees and turnarounds apply.

FOLD AND POLYBAG.

The last step in making your brand retail ready is the folding and polybagging process. This will ensure that your merch stays looking sharp, clean and protected during shipping and distribution. Not only will you be wowed seeing your garments neatly folded and bagged but so will your customer. Poly bags carry a high level of professionalism that will set you apart from the competition. Also, to help keep your order organized by size, we can apply size stickers to the poly bags for a small fee (see below). SIZE STICKERS.

The old saying “Time is Money” is a true statement when speaking of entrepreneurship and small business. Size stickers will save you the time it takes to savagely unbag and unfold and remove the what was a perfectly folded garment just to verify the sizing info. Let our production team label each poly bag with the coinciding size of the already folded and bagged garment. Size stickers will help the retailer easily located the garment size they need and speed up the overall process. From packing, merchandising in a retail location or selling garments at a live event, we highly suggest adding size stickers to the poly bags.

HANG TAGS.

Custom hang tags are another finishing service we highly suggest. These hang tags can help take your brand to the next level. This is what makes your street wear brand stand out and genuinely give it that professional retail ready look. You can use your hang tang to attach a barcode, sizing information, a thank you note or any relevant information regarding your brand. Hang tags provide an opportunity to use an additional canvas to paint a picture or convey a message directly to each buyer.

Placement options

Hang tags are traditionally placed in the collar label, in the collar fabric or under the right/left armpit fabric. If you would like us to place them in another spot, please be sure to let your account executive know. A small hole in the location where the plastic fastener is applied is common, so we recommend placing the fastener in the collar label or under the arm.

WOVEN LABELS.

A woven label is made from cloth or a threaded material which are sewn into the sleeve, or bottom hem seam. We can remove the manufacturers label and relabel it with your own logo to customize your garments. From our experience, a screen printed neck tag along with a woven bottom hem tag or sleeve tag will upgrade your brand from standard to premium. We’ve seen several clients double the value of their brand just by adding these low cost accessories. Again, this is a great subtle way to brand and embellish you printed garment. With that being said, designing woven tags can be a bit tricky because the logo or text is woven and not printed so small detailed designs or text may or may not be visible. Woven Labels are a fashionable, customizable addition that is stitched to the bottom seam or the sleeve of a shirt. Wovens which are also referred to as “Hem Tags” are a low cost add on that gives your brand the high quality look and feel that your customers will want. It will help with your brand recognition, but most importantly, for just a few extra dollars, this fully customizable add on will nearly double your brands value.
